Sorceress -- Haunting Familiars & Guiding Spirits

Wanted to make a quick update to share how the new bonus reward is going to look! 🖤 She still needs some polishing and finessing, but I thought you guys would like to see her sooner rather than later. 

She is 'The Dreamer' floating through the infinite realms, swimming in starlight, she imagines far beyond the realm of her own seas into the beyond. She reminds us to let our sense of wonder transport us beyond the mundane and the grounded. She is a meditation for looking ever up, until we find ourselves in the stars that glimmer in our imaginations. 


I hope you guys love this new surprise bonus! We are getting closer and closer to unlocking the next stretch goal, Exhale, as well! :) And though I took a quick detour to work on this new patch design, I am back to work on getting previews of the two unlocked designs I haven't shared yet - Quiescence & Abyss - which I hope to have ready to share in the next day or two. Oh my goodness - I cannot believe how close the poll results came out to be! It was literally one vote away from being a tie out of 136 votes.

✨ The winner is - Exhale and her misty eels! ✨ I am really excited to transform this one into a beautiful metal and enamel piece of art. She was my very first painting in this series and one that has stuck with me for many years, while other paintings have been retired. There was always something about this piece that just felt so true and effortless to me. This painting was a meditation on our ability to summon into reality creations that manifest the truths we know in our bones. 


With that being said, Advent and her sunrise peacocks were so, so close to being the next chosen instead - and I am still hopeful we can get her unlocked as well. So, I am going to nudge the stretch goal just a little closer :) rather than putting her at $30k, I am putting her stretch goal at $29k to give us hopefully a little better chance of reaching her!

We have a very good chance of reaching that I think. We still have a third of the campaign to go (1 week left out of 3) and usually, the pace of pledges picks up at the end as well. So fingers crossed! I know a lot of you are really hoping for Advent - so I am going to do my best to help us get there!


I also wanted to announce that I am adding an extra freebie bonus (in addition to the coloring sheets I mentioned in the last update). Anyone who backs at the 2 pin tier or higher, will also be getting a free embroidered patch! 

I am still finishing up the design before I can share a picture of it with you - but I will say that it is a little Art Nouveau-style treasure that features the moon, stars, and tentacles :) because everything is prettier with some elegantly swooping tentacles. I can't wait to share the design with you - hopefully in the next day or so - and I will have all the details for you then! 

✨ I've been hard at work the last few days on the next design and finally got her to a presentable work-in-progress stage :) Of course, as with all the wips, there is still a lot of pretty-ing up to do and pushing and pulling the colors and shapes until they are just right, but I reached a point today where my brain went 'yes! there she is!'.  I'm so excited to share this icy ephemeral sorceress - Zenith:



Zenith reaches ever upward into the vast infinite reaches, she dances with the swirling electrons, letting them burn away her imperfections and reveal the diamond bones of her. This sorceress sheds the trapping of her small mortal frame and spreads her wings like a vast manta ray into the realm of ideal forms: the abstract, perfect, and timeless essences of all things. She swims through the currents of her dreams and ideals, and like a ray, she leaps from the ocean of this life into a medium of another world. This sorceress and her rays remind us to reach for our highest dreams, our highest self. They sing to us from the northernmost lights to join them at the zenith of our world and dance in the potential of how high we can reach. What ideal form of yourself is waiting to soar into the cosmic infinite? What dreams are waiting to break free above the waves into the realm above?

✨ I also wanted to add an extra bonus reward for all my backers! I've decided to create digital coloring sheets of each sorceress! ✨

These will be free to everyone who backs my campaign for one pin or more and will be able to be downloaded through Backerkit once I get the Pledge Manager setup and sent out. I'm really excited to share these, as I think they will be a lot of fun for any of you who like to color and you can make each sorceress unique to you in your own color palette :) These will be on 8x10 sheets, so they will be easy to print on standard-size printer paper.

We are also still making sure and steady progress toward the next stretch goal - $25k :) And I am happy to see the poll is not getting lost this time lol we have almost 100 votes, and it is looking very neck and neck between Exhale and Advent. There's still a day left if you want to get your vote in for which sorceress should be summoned next into the collection :) 

I'm happy to be here with another update - a work-in-progress reveal!

The comments were overwhelmingly and unanimously in favor of me switching to sharing wips of each piece rather than pushing to get each one finished and polished before moving on to the next. So I have taken all the feedback to heart and am working on getting each design to about the 60% mark to share with you guys sooner rather than later.

This approach pains me a little lol because I am always so nervous my wips won't be pretty enough to share, but it has been so encouraging to see how well received my last one was - so I will be brave lol 😅 I have spent the last two days hard at work on getting the next work-in-progress ready to share - Embers:


This sorceress looks calm and still, but around her the smoke curls and heat shimmers like a mirage. What sparks are you concealing within? What passions are swimming deep within your glowing veins, as yet unseen? Like a delicate gossamer wyrm that glows in the deep dark currents with its own light - what life dances within you? What molten dream gleams beneath the veil of smoke and mist, beneath your still exterior?

✨ We've also hit our $20k stretch goal and Abyss has been unlocked! This sorceress will manifest with flickering lightning bugs as her familiars :) I can't wait to have the work in progress of her ready to share! 



✨ I've also added a new pledge tier for 7 pins - now that we have unlocked 7 designs! So for everyone who wants to get all the designs (or just a mix of 7 lol) it's added to the options for you :)



✨And since we hit our last stretch goal - I've added a new stretch goal at 25k! It seems, from the comments on the last update that a lot of people didn't realize there was a 2nd poll, so I wanted to make sure to add the newest poll to this update so hopefully less will miss it :) There are two sorceresses from the previous poll to choose from - Exhale and Advent - so be sure to take a second and vote on your favorite! :) 


 

Hey wanted to post a small update about a few helpful things 😊

✨ There were a few comments asking about Stretch Pay - and so I wanted to let you guys know that I have enabled Stretch Pay.  I never even knew this was a thing until a few days ago but I'm excited to try this feature out and hope it is helpful to some of you! It automatically sets the minimum at $150 - so I don't have any control over that aspect. But anyone who hits that threshold can use this feature if it is helpful 🖤

✨ I've also added a 6 Pin Tier since we have unlocked that many designs so far - for anyone who wants to get all of the designs (or I suppose mix and match multiple of the same if you are buying a gift or something as well lol).

✨ I've also been hard at work on 'Illumination' and polishing up her design. My hope is to have her finished tomorrow and then begin work on 'Embers'. But until then, I thought it would be fun to share a little work-in-progress of how she is coming along so far! I'm usually nervous to share w-i-ps since they are not yet pretty and polished, but I know a lot of people like to see them - so I will be brave! lol



I'm really loving how she is turning out so far and think she is going to be really beautiful when finished. I just need to redraw the lines a hundred times to get them just right and add all the pretty swirly bits and lay out the colors within their proper cells. But the overall impression that I am aiming for is there :) 

I am curious to know if it will be more helpful for me to get all the unlocked designs to this stage of finish first, rather than getting each one fully polished at a time before starting the next. I think that might help everyone to have a better idea which ones call to them the most 🖤 Is that something you think would be helpful? Or should I stick to finishing each one completely, one at a time? 

✨ Poll update - also - the poll for the next design to unlock finished last night and we have a winner! 'Abyss' took the crown this time and so if we hit $20k (I can't believe I'm even saying those numbers lol) we will unlock the haunting Abyss sorceress and her lightning bug familiars!
